Do you also know the name cilantro for coriander? It's almost the same: cilantro refers to the leaves of the plant, while coriander refers to the tiny, round seeds of the plant. The history of coriander can be traced back to the Middle East; the Romans then brought it to Europe, where it was considered a rather exotic spice.
